Develop and empower small businesses in our district

Developer and empower small businesses in our district

Small business growth and development has always been the economic core of our City, but too often we have been prioritizing large corporations over everyday entrepreneurs. As federal and state governments get more bogged down by partisan politics, cities have become a driver of economic growth and development, and I want to expand on that model. Our City should prioritize … Read More

Invest in job training and working families

District 6 is one of the best educated districts in the city. We have a wealth of entrepreneurs, business executives, and nonprofit leaders who have incredible skills and advice to offer to our community. This talent must be utilized to help empower working families across Phoenix to create a more sustainable, livable city. I propose creating a Phoenix Community Council … Read More

Be open and accessible to constituents

Accessibility is core to the mission of a public official. I want you to always be able to contact me about pressing issues, ideas and concerns, or simply to build relationships in our community. To do this, I am willing to propose the following to ensure residents have a Councilman they can trust: Make my phone number and email address … Read More

Work tirelessly to make 202 work for residents

Kevin PattersonMy Plan for Ahwatukee Comments

Our team has been knocking on doors all over Ahwatukee and we’ve heard about the 202 expansion every day. The expansion evokes strong reactions from all sides of the debate and as someone who prides themselves as an active listener and consensus builder, I admit this is a difficult issue. For a decade, Ahwatukee residents have passionately fought the highway … Read More

No tax increases for working families and small business

Taxes in the City of Phoenix have become a burden on working class families and small businesses in our District. While ensuring that we have a solid revenue stream to support efficient and cost-effective City services is important, we shouldn’t prioritize government spending over the concerns of our constituents. The City of Phoenix is facing a budget deficit in 2018 … Read More

Double police presence and reduce response times

The current police presence and lengthy emergency response times in Ahwatukee are unacceptable. It is vital that we commit to doubling the current number of patrol cars on duty from 3 to 6 in order to significantly reduce response times and create a safer community for our families. Even better? The most recent City of Phoenix budget adds 219 more … Read More

Solve Lakes and Club West Golf Course Blight

Residents have become exhausted from constant battles over the future of our golf courses and neighborhoods. Both developers who aimed to restructure the Lakes, Pulte and True Life, have proposed “solutions” that residents clearly do not want, and the fight to get 51% of residents to change their deed restrictions to allow for the construction has dragged on for years. … Read More

Say Yes to Ahwatukee

Say Yes to Ahwatukee

Ahwatukee is not the same thriving, hopeful community that I grew up in. Years of gross mismanagement and failed leadership have left our community a hotbed for developer aggression, dying golf courses, a 202 expansion that we didn’t want, and a public safety crisis that threatens our families. This is simply unacceptable, and it has to change.

Our current Councilman has had years to propose a real, by the numbers and by the books plan for our community to restore leadership and responsible development to our community, but he never seems to get anywhere. I want to build consensus, hear residents’ concerns, and advocate for what best serves you and your family. That is why I’m running, and that is what my plan aims to do. It was put together after spending countless hours listening to residents and their concerns, and diving deep into the policy that will make our vision come to life.

Say Yes to Phoenix

Phoenix is a City on the rise, and I am proud to call these streets home. As we continue to grow and develop, it is time for Phoenix to commit to a long term, strategic development plan that will shape our identity for years to come. I have spent countless hours throughout this campaign sitting and listening to residents and their diverse concerns, and learned that the issues we are dealing with in our City are challenging, but not insurmountable. It will take real leadership and real solutions to ensure that Phoenix is a safe and thriving City for all of its residents.

Watching my two daughters grow up in this City has been an eye opening experience. I want their lives to be full of opportunity and happiness, and their community to be strong and safe. Let’s work together to build a Phoenix we are all proud to say yes to.
